It's been a while since I had a pedicure and I had to see what all the hype was about.

Before purchasing this, I have heard about foot peels when everyone went “baby-soft foot peel” crazy… not that soft feet aren’t still a thing but I wasn’t crazy about dropping $20 plus bucks on something that would make my feet look like I was a snake.  I overheard a few co-workers talking about this foot peel that they got on Amazon and after some good word of mouth (and confirmation that it was under $20) I decided to go on the hunt and give it a try.  I found a 2-pack for $15.

Before the peel-

Foot Peel Day One

Feet wrapped up in gel bootiesDay one- I read the instructions and planned to leave an hour open after my shower. I thoroughly cleaned my feet and after drying them placed them in the plastic gel-filled booties provided and set my timer for one hour. I removed the booties and rinsed the remaining gel off my feet. I noticed my skin had a faint white haze to it but nothing major. My skin started to feel a little uncomfortable as they dried – there is a note in the instructions advising that you can put lotion on to help with this and the peeling process. I threw some socks on and went to bed.

Day two- Is this working? I thought there would be some peeling but my feet looked normal- I slathered on some lotion in the morning and saw no progress by night. I started to wonder if this thing actually worked- I even re-read the instructions to see if I did something wrong.

Day three- FINALLY!!! I see the first signs of peeling!

Finally some signs of peeling!

So there is one thing I have to mention- (if you are a picker like me, this will be the hardest part for you) the instructions tell you to avoid peeling the loose skin off, you are supposed to let it fall off naturally. They advise that you can put lotion on to help speed up the process. My feet were never itchy. The worst part was not being able to wear open-toe shoes/flip flops (I live in South Florida).

Day four & five: My feet are on full peel mode at this point. My skin isn’t irritated, the only that irritates me is not being able to assist the process. I recommend wearing socks and shoes at this point.

Day six: By some miracle, my feet are done peeling and look/feel like babies’ feet!

Overall: My feet stayed soft for a month. I am terrible at applying lotion to my feet and I wear flip flops every day.  It is a good thing that you get two in the package because I used the other one and have been using one every month. I have some co-workers who are able to extend their results through pedicures and being diligent with lotion. If you’re looking for something to use in place of getting a pedicure and/or something in-between pedicures than this is totally worth it.  These have quickly become a staple in my life, I’m happy I gave them a try!
